We’re making some changes to the JustGiving APIs as part of our move to the Blackbaud SKY API platform.

What you need to do depends on how your charity currently connects to JustGiving.

I use a CRM or third-party integration

You don't need to do anything right now.

If you access your JustGiving data through a CRM or another integration provider, your provider will make the necessary changes to their integration.

They will contact you when they are ready and let you know if there are any actions you need to take.

No action needed yet

If you use a third-party provider to connect to JustGiving, please wait for them to contact you with the next steps.

My charity connects directly to the JustGiving Data API

If your charity has built and manages its own connection to the JustGiving Data API, there will be some changes you'll need to make.

The JustGiving Data API is moving to the Blackbaud SKY API platform. As part of this change, your charity's direct integration will need to move to the new API and authorisation process.

What does this mean for my charity?

In simple terms, the way your system securely connects to JustGiving is changing.

Your existing integration will need to be updated so that it can:

  • connect to the new JustGiving Data API endpoints;
  • use the new OAuth 2.0 authorisation process; and
  • use a SKY application to identify the application connecting to JustGiving.

Who should I speak to?

If your charity has an internal developer or technical team that built your JustGiving integration, share these upcoming changes with them.

If an external developer or agency built the integration specifically for your charity, we recommend speaking to them about updating it.

They'll need to review the updated developer guidance and make the necessary technical changes to your integration.

Not sure which applies to you?

If you log into a CRM or another provider's system to access your JustGiving data, you're most likely using a third-party integration, so there's nothing you need to do right now.

If your charity has built its own software or API connection directly to JustGiving, the direct integration guidance applies to you.

What happens next?

If you use a third-party integration

Wait for your provider to contact you. They'll provide the relevant next steps when they're ready to move your connection.

If you connect directly to the Data API

Make sure the person or team responsible for your JustGiving integration is aware that changes are coming.

We'll provide the new Data API endpoint details and technical guidance needed to update your integration.

Will this affect donations or fundraising pages?

No action is required from you today, and this update does not change how supporters donate or create fundraising pages.

This change is about how approved systems and providers connect to JustGiving data behind the scenes.
